"It is our responsibility to dismantle power constructs in the care setting and set aside preconceived notions for the sake of getting to know the individual who needs us in that moment. Cultural Humility is respect in practice" - Nekisha Killings, MPH, I

My path to becoming a doula was founded by my passion for community. I have been serving families since I was 18-years-old. I started as a daycare teacher, became a preschool teacher, and then a nanny. I firmly believe this laid the foundation for my passion in supporting families during pregnancy, labor, birth, the postpartum, and beyond! Through my own birth experiences, and my passion for community care, I started my journey to becoming a doula in 2017. I am also a Postpartum Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor. It is an honor to walk beside families on their journey, and I am deeply committed to empowering and supporting them as they experience birth and beyond. I live outside of Cleveland, Ohio with my husband Chris, and two young daughters.
