The Midwifery Institute: Student Handbook

Why is this first? Because it is the single most important part of the work we do here. BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ communities are SEVERELY underrepresented in the birth worker community, and both populations do statistically significantly better when served by members of their own community. To that end, we do not only promise not to discriminate against BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, we strive to acknowledge intersectionality, differences in the experiences of minorities, and educate our students to provide superior care to these populations. 

Courses, unless otherwise stated, are completed at your own pace, on your own time. We have had completion times ranging from 2 weeks up to 18 months! We have ONE requirement: Login at least once every 6 months to prevent your course from being locked. Students who do not log in at least once every 180 days will be required to pay a course reinstatement fee to restart. 

Payment Plans MUST be current in order to receive any documentation, INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS from the Midwifery Institute.

If you contact us Via moodle message or assignment comments, we cannot access that without you making a submission, and those are only checked 1-2 times per week.

Assignments should be submitted in the following formats ONLY:

Video Assignments: MP4 or WAV

Print or Visual Assignments: .JPG, .PDF, Google Drive Link, or .Doc ONLY

any student who plagiarises an assignment will be suspended from the course without a refund.  Students suspended will have to pay the full course fee to retake the course, From the beginning.  exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis and at The Executive Director’s discretion Only.

Using a copy & paste of information from ANY source as the majority or sole answer to any question will be considered plagiarism under this policy. It’s like handing in your tutor’s paper, with your tutor’s name on it, with your name written underneath. 

We DO NOT offer full tuition scholarships to ANY program. Partial scholarships are available to Midwifery students only.
